  • Clinical Supervision

Congratulations on finishing graduate school and becoming an LPC associate! You have worked hard, developed significant skills and the community needs you! Supervision is essential to the growth and development of an LPC associate.

I am a board approved supervisor by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors & an AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate. I offer clinical supervision to LPC associates who are working towards completing licensure hours as required by the state. Supervision will be based on guidelines established by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.

I offer clinical supervision to a select number of LPC associates that are ready to work towards licensure and have high ethical standards in counseling. I offer supervision sessions individually.  My style of supervision is based on a combination of my education in both professional counseling & marriage and family therapy. While I am an LPC-S by current licensure, I approach supervision from a systemically based clinical perspective with special attention to intersectionality of identity and the ways it influences a person’s lived experience. While my therapy theory of choice combines Solution Focused Therapy & Narrative Therapy, I integrate other modalities and provide supervision attending to the supervisee’s theory and modality.

Supervision will focus on: the acquisition of knowledge, conceptualization, and skills within the defined scope of practice, understanding of ethics, codes, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines (including consent, confidentiality/privacy), and all relevant legislation, application of theory & exploration of counseling techniques.

Evaluation of skills will include: Review of session recordings, review of case notes & other clinical documentation such as treatment plans.

Requirements to start supervision (not needed at the time of consultation):

    • Copy of transcript from your graduate counseling program(s)
    • Copy of your national counselor exam (NCE) with confirmation of passing score
    • Copy of jurisprudence Exam certificate
    • Copy of your Professional liability insurance
    • Supervisory Agreement Form sent to the Texas State Board of Examiners
    • Copy of LPC associate license received from the state

Supervision, similar to therapy is about a good “fit”

If you are interested in learning more about how we may be able to work together as you work towards licensure, please contact me today to set up a consultation. I would be honored to work with you during this stage of your career. Again, congratulations you’ve made it this far!
