Myles Ward

Master's Level Practicum Student

Myles is pursing his M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Tarleton State University. Myles is a third year counselor trainee who has completed advanced coursework in Counseling and is supervised by a faculty instructor and Ebony Skinner, Ph.D., LPC-S, AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Myles is completing his Practicum at Mindful-Purpose Guided Counseling. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Kinesiology from Tarleton State University; where he played division 1 football for 5 years.  Myles has previously worked as a Graduate Assistant Researcher and currently works as a non-teaching Graduate Assistant. 

Myles utilizes a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy approach, emphasizing clients’ strengths and their capacity for change. He works collaboratively with each individual to identify goals and develop practical, achievable steps toward progress. Myles is committed to helping clients recognize their own resilience and build on what is already working in their lives. He ensures that clients feel heard, supported, and actively involved in shaping their counseling experience.

Myles was born in Belleville, Illinois and has lived in El Paso, Texas for most of his life before moving to Central Texas. Myles interest of becoming a counselor was sparked by his career as an athlete and has since grown. Myles enjoys listening to music, spending time with his significant other, family, and friends, collecting vinyl records and reading, in his free time. He also enjoys shopping, working out, golfing, and hunting!
